Greater Tamaqua Area Municipalities

The Greater Tamaqua Area (shaded area of map) includes Tamaqua Borough, Rush Township, Schuylkill Township, Walker Township and West Penn Township.

The Borough of Tamaqua is situated within the Pennsylvania Coal Region section of the Appalachian Mountains, 12 miles south of Hazleton, 5 miles southwest of Lansford and approximately 100 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

Tamaqua’s population was 7,107 as of the 2010 U.S. Census.
