Air Products

The Air Products Facility opened in 1973 with approximately 40 employees on an initial investment of $3 million. Since then, it has grown to employ more than 300 people engaged in making specialty and electronic gases and chemicals sold globally to customers in more than two dozen countries.

The Facility is nestled in a beautiful setting in western Rush Township. In the Fall, the mountains that surround the plant become vibrant with all the colors of the season.

Air Products employees are active and take great pride in the community.

Company representatives participate in many organizations including the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce, Tamaqua Industrial Development Enterprises,  Environmental Council, local emergency planning commission, Schuylkill County Manufacturers Association and Rush Township Recreation Commission.

Many employees volunteer on local fire department and rescue squads.

The Facility, in conjunction with the Little Schuylkill Conservation Club, maintains a forty-seven acre Wildlife Sanctuary adjacent to the Hometown Plant.

Anthracite Welding & Fabrications, Inc.

For more than 25 years Anthracite Welding has been in the business of creating top-quality fabrications in steel, stainless, and aluminum.

CNC plasma cutting, plate rolling, bending, angle, beam, channel rolling, shearing, punching, welding to AWSD1.1, handrail, hopper, bin, duct, pipe, light-medium-heavy plate, skids, tanks, and frames – all created to exacting specifications.

ELK Lighting, Inc.

ELK assembles and distributes indoor and outdoor lighting products from a facility in Tidewood East Industrial Park.

The company provides custom fixtures for national contract sales as well as commercial and residential applications.

FOX Transportation Inc.

FOX operates a fleet of late-model Peterbilt air ride tractors and high cube 48- and 53-foot air ride reefers capable of distributing deep-frozen food. The firm also offers dry van and flat bed service.

Gellner manufactures water-based acrylic polymers.   These products are used in a wide variety of applications, including printing inks, high-gloss varnishes, and an array of  industrial coatings.

Highwood USA, LLC

Highwood produces synthetic (plastic) wood products.  The Highwood products are produced in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors.  Highwood sells its products to companies who manufacture items such as patio furniture (tables and chairs), outdoor benches and cabinets and trim for hot tubs.  Newly developed products include fencing and trim for garden sheds.

Hy-Line North America, LLC

Hy-Line constructed a new building on a site in Tidewood East Industrial Park and now operates a 36,000 square-foot facility for incubation of poultry eggs.

Lehigh Anthracite LP

Lehigh Anthracite LP is a joint venture formed by BET Entities and Robindale Energy Services for the purpose of continuing the now 200-years-long development of coal lands in Schuylkill and Carbon Counties.

Lehigh Anthracite controls nearly 8,000 acres of anthracite reserves that was acquired by BET in June of 2010. After acquiring the reserves, BET partnered with Robindale Energy to mine the resource.

The current production capacity of the enterprise is 500,000 tons per year. Company website:

Remaly Manufacturing Company, Inc..

Remaly has been creating high quality perforated metals and custom metal fabrications for customers nationwide since 1865.

These days Remaly still bends, shapes and perforates metal, but does it as a rapid response manufacturer, creating custom solutions in many different metals that didn’t even exist 100 years ago, both ferrous and non-ferrous.

Silberline Manufacturing Co., Inc.

Silberline manufactures special effect and performance aluminum pigments. The firm supplies companies in a wide range of industries, including: automotive, printing inks, plastics, powder coatings, cosmetics, and general industrial.

Silberline’s Ernest Scheller III Center for Technical Functions & Advanced Manufacturing is located in Tidewood East Industrial Park. Silberline carries out both R&D and advanced manufacturing in this facility.

Trans Western Polymers, Inc.

Trans Western manufactures plastic bags for private label customers. The Tidewood Industrial Park plant operates to serve the company’s customers in the Midwest and Eastern United States.

All new product development for the corporation is carried out at the TIDE Park location.

Veolia works under contract to Air Products, purifying aqueous scrubber solutions from the Air Products specialty fluoride manufacturing plant in Hometown, Pa.

Walmart at Hometown Commons

Hometown Commons is a 203,000 square foot retail power center, located at the intersection of Route 309 and Tide Road at the entrance to the Tidewood East Industrial Park. It opened in the Spring of 2007.

The center is anchored by a 155,000 square foot Walmart Supercenter.
